My Story
My Life was Spinning out of Control
In October 2017, I committed myself to a healthier, happier and fitter lifestyle. I didn’t do it to LOOK hot or to be SKINNY!! I did it because my life was quickly spiraling out of control in every way and my health and health choices were poor. Although I knew better, I was not doing better.
I needed to change my life now or I was sure to suffer a slow and painful early death, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. When viewed from that lens, it was a pretty simple and easy choice. At least it was for me. I was choosing to live life fully and I was choosing ME for the first time AND for all of the right reasons.
That day, I committed to loving myself, really loving myself and I made immediate short and long term changes that continue to sustain me on this life long journey that I embrace daily!!
This was and is NOT an overnight journey or a quick fix. So please, don’t think that this was easy or without it’s share of ups and downs!!
Along the journey, complete and utter devastation hit and in 2018 I lost both of my parent's within an 8 month time frame. My whole entire world came crashing down and everything in it, including me, died along with my parents. I lost my light and I forgot how to shine. It was the darkest period of my entire life. I could no longer feel the sun shining on me. I wanted to give up and to give in.
One sweet day, out of the blue in February 2019, I had the most beautiful dream ever. I heard my mother's sweet voice telling me that all would be OK and that I needed to "get up'! It was a special and life changing moment for me. It reminded me that she is not gone and that her love is here with me every day.
In that moment, I decided to re-dedicate myself AGAIN to this fitness journey in her honor (she had a gastric bypass just 3 months before she passed away and did not get to finish her journey).
The gains and transformation experienced since she was called home have been ASTOUNDING!!
I feel my Mom and Dad in every set that I lift! I feel their love every time I smile.
It took me 3 years to get to where I am NOW!! But as we all know nothing worth having is ever quick or easy. I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
Its never to late to start. Its never to late to RE-START. It's never to late to TRY. Your best YOU is waiting
